Brent is a north west London borough with approximately 270,000 inhabitants. Brent is situated next to Harrow, Barnet, Camden, Ealing, Fulham, Hammersmith, Chelsea, Kensington and Westminster.

Brent is a relatively new area and was only formed in 1965. The old Municipal Borough of Wembley and the Municipal Borough of Willesden and Middlesex formed the basis of the new area. The name "Brent" comes from the River Brent which runs through the borough.

Because of the large size and population, Brent is divided into 21 Electoral Wards. The area is divided in to three constituencies (Brent North, Brent East and Brent South).

In May 2006 Labour lost control of the borough in the council elections with 14 of their seats going to the Liberal Democrats. The current leader of the Brent Council is Liberal Democrat Paul Lorber.

Visitors to Brent have many attractions and activities. The new Wembley Stadium is in the borough of Brent. The new Wembley Stadium was launched in 2007 and has 90,000 seats (making it the second largest capacity stadium in Europe) and is also the most expensive stadium ever built.

Despite the size and population of Brent, there are still over 100 parks and open spaced. These range from sports grounds and country parks to large reservoirs.

Some of the most popular areas include Barham Park, Brent Resevoir, Fryent Country Park, Gladstone Park, Roundwood Park and Queen's Park.

Because of its location in London, Brent has fantastic traffic links via road or rail and is in close proximity to the main London airports. The location and commuting makes Brent a very popular place and the area is developing very quickly.
