There is a wealth of family entertainment choices and amenities in Bristol. During the summer the city hosts the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta which always draws a extensive crowd. Ashton Court hosts the Ashton Court Festival which is also held during the summer.
The impressive Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery is home to a wonderful collection of natural history, local glassware, archaeology and Chinese ceramics. The City Museum operates three historic houses in the area (the Georgian House, the Tudor Red Lodge and the Blaise Castle House).
Many of Bristol's surrounding areas are well known for their natural beauty. Based in a limestone area, Bristol has the Mendip Hills to the south and the world-renowned Cotswolds to the north east. Two main rivers, the Avon and the Frome have created Bristol's prominent hilly landscape over the years.
Bristol has super transport links. Bristol Parkway and Bristol Temple Meads are the two main railway stations. There are also several scheduled coach links which operate to most major UK cities. The M4 motorway connects Bristol to London and Wales while the M5 links with Birmingham. Bristol has its own airport, Bristol International which has seen major renovations and investments since 2001.
